In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis and the lobby to help startups through this, we as Dutch Startup Association got reinforcements in the team. Very welcome hands in turbulent times.

Thomas Vles, no stranger to the Dutch startup and investment world, joins the Board as director from April 1st onwards. Thomas is responsible for operational matters and will use his expertise to bring dSa to a higher level and make sure that the lines between politics, startups and scale-ups become even shorter.

“I want to contribute to a self reliant ecosystem for entrepreneurs by creating a sharing community between startups, promoting a less risk aversive investment culture and by removing governmental barriers. Startups are essential for business innovation and the necessary shift to a more resilient and sustainable economy.

With the COVID-19 crisis I want to mobilise our platform to recognise, inspire and co-create necessary pivots for survival. I feel the real challenge will come in the months after the crisis, where many startups will have to extend their runway to cope with decreasing revenues and postponed financing.” says Thomas about his ambitions.
